AHV were involved in the project right from the beginning when it was just an idea that I had started to think about. I was particularly impressed with the way they were prepared to invest in the relationship-we had many meetings to flesh out the plan prior to AHV being hired. When the acquisition strategy was defined and AHV were hired, their research was spot on and many possible acquisitions were identified. Since then I am delighted that the relationship has worked extremely well for both parties-we have made 4 acquisitions, all through AHV and there are potentially more to come!

Acquisition advisory – Building a business to scale

When Simon Hochauser identified a gap in the market for telecommunications providers to SME’s and larger corporates, he approached AHV to assist with his plan.

Simon Hochhauser, a serial technology entrepreneur, approached AHV in early 2004 after identifying a gap in the corporate IT/telecommunications sector. He was interested in executing a buy-and-build strategy in order to establish a service provider of adequate size. AHV worked with Simon for two months to develop the correct strategy and was subsequently hired to source and complete a series of acquisitions.

The company’s first acquisition was that of, RGT Limited in March 2005. RGT was a small supplier of telecommunication and voice systems to Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s).  It provided the platform upon which the Client was able to further develop their buy and build strategy.

In August 2006 the company acquired the Telinet Group – a medium sized supplier of telecoms and voice systems which provided the Client with significant enhanced scale. Now that the Client had sufficient scale in its core market, the need to provide customers with a more complete set of converged IT and telecoms solutions became apparent. AHV was asked to source appropriate acquisitions that would complement the current business while providing it with the capability and Client base to extend its product set to become a complete supplier of converged solutions. In early 2008 the company acquired Evolution Voice and Data Limited and Pasporte Limited.

AHV has sourced and executed all the Client’s acquisitions and continues to act on an exclusive retained basis.
