We work with entrepreneurs and business owners from all sectors and geographies, helping them make the right decisions and ultimately helping them to extract value from their hard work.
We work with entrepreneurs and business owners from all sectors and geographies, helping them make the right decisions and ultimately helping them to extract value from their hard work.

We believe in building long term relationships with businesses and the trusted professionals they work with. Testimony to the benefits of our approach is the fact that many of our new relationships come from referrals from satisfied clients. After they have worked with us once, many return again.

We provide a personal service to our clients in all aspects of corporate finance advice and work closely with them throughout every stage of the transaction. We aim to get to know our clients as well as their businesses and we believe that a successful professional relationship is predicated on a trusting and personal relationship.

We have a policy of honesty and will always recommend what is best for a client, even if it means we recommend not doing a transaction. Our interests are fully aligned with those of our clients and only by developing successful transactions on behalf of business owners do we succeed ourselves.

All our partners have been involved as principals in their own businesses and thus understand the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. Combine this with our extensive experience working in large financial organisations and we make the ideal choice for private companies seeking corporate finance advice.

We work directly with entrepreneurs and business owners from all sectors, helping them make the right decisions when it comes to growing their business or extracting value from an exit.

We are experts in our field and go beyond the usual advice given by others, using our experience and network of contacts developed over many years to find the very best deal for you.

We know both ends of the market inside out – the financial and entrepreneurial ends. Having owned and run our own businesses and worked in large finance houses ourselves, we know where you’re coming from.

So whether it is researching compatible companies to merge with, finding a buyer for your company or helping to raise capital to expand, you can be sure our experience will get results.

We aim to make initial contact with business owners at an early stage, even if the business is several months or years away from a transaction. This allows us to offer informal preliminary guidance and helps us get to know you and the business better. All of which contributes to a more successful transaction than if AHV is hired at a later date.

So if you are thinking of making acquisitions or selling or expanding your company, call Andrew Harrington for an informal discussion.

Services

AHV can source suitable acquisitions for clients and, if required, we also source capital to support the acquisition. As a first step though, we spend time with the client understanding their needs and objectives.

We then conduct extensive research based on public information and our own contact base to identify potential suitable acquisitions.

A long list is presented to the client with relevant information on the potential targets including an overview of each business, their sizes, profitability and ownership characteristics.

From this long list and the client’s feedback, a short list of 20 to 25 potential targets is established.

We then approach these targets using a method and form of words that are agreed with the client. Meetings are arranged with those who are interested in a preliminary discussion.

AHV will then co-ordinate follow up meetings/information exchange and negotiate valuations, transaction structures, term sheets and manage the execution of the transaction.

As a first step, we spend a long time with the client understanding their company and their exit requirements, such as valuation consideration and their desire to remain with the company etc.

We then prepare an Information Memorandum, in conjunction with management and its other advisors, which provides a detailed overview of the company and highlights its key attributes.

We conduct extensive research using public information and our own contact base to identify potential suitable acquirers around the world based on obtaining the best value for our client. This could mean researching companies not just in the client’s main sector of activity but also in complementary sectors that would provide better value for our clients. A long list is presented to the client with relevant information on the potential acquirers including an overview of the business, their size, profitability and ownership characteristics. From this long list and the client’s feedback, a short list of 20 to 25 potential acquirers is established.

We then approach these acquirers and send them a short summary of the company and its attributes. Interested parties are then required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement before being sent the full Information Memorandum.

AHV will then co-ordinate follow up meetings and information exchanges while advising on and negotiating valuations, transaction structures and term sheets in order to manage the execution of the transaction until completion with minimal disruption to the ongoing business.

AHV sources capital for clients to support a growth strategy centred around expansion through organic growth or management buyout.

We source capital from one or more banks, debt funds, private equity and family offices depending on the situation.

We spend a long time with the client understanding their company and their growth strategy and can assist the client in the development of a detailed financial model and forecasts if required.

We then prepare an Information Memorandum and Management Presentation, in conjunction with management and its other advisors, which provides a detailed overview of the company, highlighting its key investment characteristics and growth potential.

We prepare a list of perhaps 20 to 30 potential investors based upon their investment criteria (including typical investment size and approval process required). This selection procedure ensures that there is an immediate meeting of minds.

AHV will then approach these potential investors and send them a short summary of the company and its key investment characteristics.

We will then co-ordinate and manage follow up meetings/information exchanges and negotiate valuations and transaction structures.

Since we have been in your position we understand the need to give you the space to run your business and we always manage the process so as to utilise management time as efficiently as possible.

We source capital from one or more banks, debt funds, private equity and family offices depending on the situation. As soon as the acquisition has been identified, and terms agreed, the capital raising process can begin.

We can assist the client in the development of a detailed financial model and forecasts of the combined business if required.

We then prepare an Information Memorandum, in conjunction with management and its other advisors which provides a detailed overview of the company and the target acquisition, highlighting the key investment characteristics and growth potential of the combined business.

We prepare a list of perhaps 30 to 40 potential investors which have appropriate funding characteristics including their investment type (debt, equity or a combination of the two), investment criteria, the size of typical investments and the approval process.

We then approach these potential investors on our client’s behalf and send them a short summary of the company and its key investment characteristics. Interested parties are then required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement before being sent the full Information Memorandum.

AHV will co-ordinate follow up meetings and information exchanges and will advise on and negotiate valuations, transaction structures, term sheets and manage the execution of the capital raising until completion.
